Delete your data
Garnished has no accounts or sign-in. You can delete your data at any time, in the app or by email. Recipes are kept only in a de-identified form, and analytics are kept unless you ask us by email.
Delete in the app
- Open Settings in Garnished.
- Under Legal, tap Delete my data.
- Confirm with Delete my data.
Deletion happens straight away and can't be undone. Garnished then starts fresh at the welcome screen.
What is deleted
- From our servers: your kitchen profile (including allergies and diet rules), your library, saved recipes and collections, your cooking history and credit records, your temporary plate pictures, and anything that links the recipes Garnished wrote for you back to you. Recipe reports you sent lose your ID and any note you typed.
- From this iPhone: your profile, history, reminders and onboarding answers, and your agreement to the AI terms.
What is removed later
- Copies in our database backups, which roll off within 7 days, and in our providers' systems, which they remove within 180 days.
- Crash reports, which expire after 90 days.
- Server logs, which expire after 30 days.
- Recipe reports you sent, kept without your ID or note until they are deleted automatically 180 days after you sent them.
- Abuse-prevention counters, stored under a one-way scrambled form of your ID, which expire after 2 days.
What is kept, and why
- Your plan and credits. Purchases belong to your Apple Account. Apple and our subscription-management provider keep the purchase records, linked to the app's random user ID, so you can keep using what you paid for and restore it. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in your iPhone's Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.
- The random user ID on this iPhone, which those purchase records are tied to. It holds no profile or recipes after deletion.
- De-identified recipe content. The recipes Garnished wrote for you (the recipe itself, its picture, and settings such as servings and units) are kept under a new random ID with nothing that links them to you: no user ID, no kitchen profile, none of the ingredients or words you typed or dictated, no collection names and no exact dates. We use them to improve Garnished.
- Analytics events about how you used the app, tied to that random user ID, which we keep as long as needed to understand and improve the app, with no fixed period. Delete my data doesn't remove them: email support@lulolabs.co with the subject Delete my analytics and we'll delete them for you.
- Data our advertising partners already received. Meta keeps it under its own policy. The Do not sell or share switch in the app (Settings › Legal) stops new data, and turning off tracking stops your advertising identifier being shared.
- A recipe picture another user's saved recipe also uses, which stays for them. It contains nothing about you.
- Records we must keep by law, such as tax records of purchases.
Ask us by email
Can't use the app? Email support@lulolabs.co with the subject Delete my data. Because Garnished has no accounts, we'll ask for something that lets us find your data, such as the order ID of an App Store receipt for Garnished. We complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by reply.
